Obituary for Alice Johnson Alice Eleanor Johnson (nee Brown), 80, passed away on June 11, 2018 at Bon Secours Maryview Hospital in Portsmouth VA surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Johnson, born in January 15, 1938 in Madison, WI to the late Neal and Clara Brown of Madison. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Suffolk, VA, and is survived by her husband Gregory, her children Mark (Amy) Johnson and Daniel (Brenda) Johnson of Louisville KY, Deborah (Ron) Winbun of Versailles KY, and Michelle (Geoffrey) Service of Suffolk VA, her grandchildren Mark Jr., Bailey, Logan, Matthew, Molly, Nolan, William, and Shelby, six great-grandchildren, and her sister Betty Adams of Rochester NY.

Alice was the youngest of four daughters and became her father’s companion in hunting, boating, and fishing. A special memory was their getting ice cream after school. Alice attended Tidewater Community College, completing an Associate’s degree.

She worked for five years as a real estate agent in Pennsylvania, specializing in new homes. She also reviewed construction quality, using skills she learned as the project manager of building a new house for her family. Alice served in many church choirs over seventeen moves, loved to entertain large groups in her home, and was a member of the Red Hat Society for ladies who enjoy expanding friendships over social meals.
