Alpha’s Obituary Alpha Faye Young, 91, of South Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 22, 2019. She was born on February 13, 1928, in South Charleston, to the late Obediah and Tasie Marie Johnson. Alpha was a founding member of the Lincoln Drive Church of God.

She loved to sing gospel music. She was always cooking and giving food away to her neighbors. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Young; and son, James “Butch” McVey.

She is survived by her children, Parma Johnson (Odell) of Jacksonville, FL, Daniel McVey (Charlotte) of Culloden, Della Groscup (Dale) of South Charleston, and Susie Skaggs (Randy) of Rupert; sister, Wanda Tinsley of St. Albans; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and special friend, Nancy Scarberry of South Charleston. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Charles Shelton and Pastor Randy Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
