Obituary for Alvaro Moreno Sr. Alvaro Moreno Sr. , 66 died Monday October 8, 2018 in Garden City, Kansas. He was born March 21, 1952 in Anahuac, Chihuahua, Mexico the son of Empimanuel S. Moreno and Josephina Corral Moreno. Alvaro attended school in Mexico until he came to the United States at the age of 16 and became a US Citizen in 2000.

He was a hard worker all of his life, most recently he had lived in Garden City for 8 years and worked in Ingalls as a Cowboy. He loved horses and caring for them. It wasn’t just a job, it was his passion.

He was a friend to all and family was his main focus. He married Marie Ellen Velasquez on January 1, 1974 and had two children, Rosa E. Muro of Portland, TN and Alvaro Moreno Jr. of Hobbs, NM. Other survivors include his father, Empimanuel S. Moreno of Garden City; his siblings, Guadalupe Moreno Corral of Garden City; Alicia Moreno Corral of Chihuahua, Mexico; Maria Moreno Corral of Hobbs, NM; Josephina Moreno Ochoa of Chicago, IL;, Raul Moreno Corral of Garden City, KS; Roberto Moreno of Chihuahua, Mexico; Aida Moreno of South Carolina and Veronica Moreno of Phoenix, AZ & five grandchildren, Jonathan Muro, Joel Muro , Janesa Muro, Jaylin Moreno and Janelle Moreno.

In addition to Marie Ellen Moreno, he was preceded in death by his mother, Josephina Moreno and a sister, Blanca Rosa Caballero. A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am Friday October 12, 2018 at Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City with Pastor Carlos Zarpate officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11:00 am to 8 pm Wednesday October 10, 2018 and from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm Thursday October 11, 2018 also at Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
