Obituary for Beverly Brakey Beverly Brakey, 89, died Sunday, November 25, 2018 at High Plains Retirement Village in Lakin, Kansas. She was born March 14, 1929 in Larned, Kansas the daughter of Lee Otis & Nelle Wanda (Autler) Lile. Beverly grew up and attended school in Friend, Kansas.

She they attended and graduated from Garden City High School and attended 1 year at Garden City Junior College. On April 30, 1949, she married Bernard “Bud” Brakey in Garden City. From 1949 to 1972, they farmed south of Leoti, Kansas.

They moved to Garden City in 1972 where they have lived since. A homemaker, Beverly also worked for 6 years at Team Electronics after moving to Garden City. After her retirement in 1982, she continued to work part time as an interior decorator.

Survivors include 2 sisters Carla Ballinger of Rogers, Arkansas and Myrna Lile of Garden City, Kansas; 4 Grandchildren; and 5 Great-Grandchildren. Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, Bud who died on May 19, 1988. She is also preceded in death by her parents; her 3 Children Deborah Sivils, Rebecca Brakey, & Gregory Braker; and a Brother Leroy Lile.

A graveside service will take place at a later date at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. There will be no calling hours.
