Obituary for Andrea Cantu McAllen, Texas Andrea Flores Cantu,84, entered eternal rest on Friday, July 20, 2018 surrounded by her family at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Andrea was born on November 10, 1934 in Bishop, Texas to Merced and Julia Flores. Andrea was raised in Reynosa, Mexico by her older sister Ana Torres at the age of 2.

Andrea married Mr. Eugenio Cantu from Placedo, Texas on February 8, 1959. Andrea was a resident of McAllen for the past 59 years. Andrea was an active member of her church,San Juan Diego Catholic Church in McAllen.

Andrea was very involved in the community. She was loved by everyone that she would meet. She always had a helping hand and always looked at the good in people.

Andrea truly lived her life to the fullest. Andrea was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, five brothers. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 59 years Mr. Eugenio Cantu; Her children-Ramon(Norma)Cantu, Victor(Carmen) Cantu, Gina(Ruben)Riojas, Nelda(Javier)Reyes, Jesus Cantu; her Siblings-Santiago(Lupe)Flores, Ramiro(Maria)Flores, Irma Torres Garza,Norma Flores,Roberto(Carmelita)Torres, and Marisela Torres; grandchildren-Tisha (Trey)Dahlberg, Michael Cantu,Adam Cantu, Ernesto Reyes, Casandra Reyes, Metzery Cantu, Joey Riojas, Alex Cantu, Leo Cantu, Larissa Cantu, Isaac Riojas, Omar Cantu, Lea Cantu, Eliana Reyes; great grandchildren- Kayla Dahlberg and Hailey Dahlberg.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are- Victor Cantu(Son), Jesus Cantu(Son), Ernesto Reyes (Grandson), Adam Cantu (Grandson), Joey Riojas (Grandson), and Leo Cantu (Grandson). A gathering of family and friends will take place on Monday,July 23, 2018 at Rivera Funeral Home,1901 Pecan Blvd. from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm.

Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at San Juan Diego church at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Andrea Cantu please visit our Sympathy Store.
