Andrew E. “Babe” Anthony, 81, of Monarch, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 23, 2018 at home with his loving family at his side. He was born May 11, 1937 in Bitner, PA, the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Switch) Anthony. He was employed for the United States Postal Service in Connellsville as a mail-carrier for many years until his retirement.

Babe served in the United States Marine Corp for 3 years and was then Honorably discharged from his service. He was a member of the former St. Vincent DePaul Roman Catholic Church and upon its’ closure, he became a member of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Dunbar. He was a member of the Monarch Volunteer Fire Department and the Independent Slovak Club.

Babe is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gladys Jean (Geary) Anthony; 2 daughters, Kimberly Kelly and husband Mark and Andrea Hardy and husband Edward; son, Andrew Anthony and friend Pam Bell; 3 grandchildren, Jeanine Dull (Brandon), Katrina Spangler (Cody) and Mark Kelly; 1 brother, John J. Anthony and wife Ada of MD ; several brothers and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Anthony. Funeral Arrangements are under the care and supervision of the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC.

418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425. In following with Babe’s wishes, there will be no public viewing and a private Blessing Service will be held with his family. Interment will be private.
