She was born July 3, 1927 in Manhattan to Irish immigrant parents Simon and Mary [Greene] Kitson. Along with her siblings she attended Holy Name of Jesus Grammar School.

Anna married Henry P. Young in 1949 and they moved to West 45th St. Manhattan where they lived until moving to Staten Island in 1954. She was joined there by her two sisters Christina Brannigan and Marcella Cox and their families, seventeen cousins on one block . Anna and Henry moved to Spring Lake, NJ in 1976 and enjoyed summer weekend visits from family and friends.

They moved to Palm Harbor, FL in 1995 where they enjoyed bowling and sunny days at the pool. In 1996 they traveled to Ireland, meeting cousins in Doonbeg and Mornington, the villages their parents were from. Anna was predeceased by her husband Henry Young, her parents, her brothers Frank and Tom, her sister Marcella Cox and her faithful dog Murphy.

Anna is survived by her sister Christina Brannigan , her daughter Christine [Louis] Gerace , son Hank Jr. ,son/caregiver Francis [ Kathleen] ,grandchildren Jennifer [Matthew] McManus, Jillian Jaques, Jake Young, Grace Young, great grandchildren Liam and Zoey Hagan , Madison McManus, her niece/caregiver Marcella Icovino (Jack), as well as her extended family and friends. Anna learned her prayers in Irish from her mother, so it is appropriate that we say ‘ Ar dHeis Laimh De go Raibh Si ’. Her ashes will be joined with her husband’s to rest in eternal peace.
