Anna May George of Laura, age 77, passed away at the home of her beloved sister-in-law and dear friend on July 8, 2018. She was born on September 13, 1940 in Baltimore City, Maryland to the late Thomas H. and Mildred A. (Conley) Young. In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her sister Rose Shirley Daffin.

Anna is survived by her husband William H. George; children Darlene (Kirk) Schlecty of Union, Karen (Rob) Shellabarger of Arcanum, and Dawn Sowers of Arcanum; grandchildren Ambrey (Mitch) Swiger, Eli (Carly) Schlecty, Karisma (Gabe) Paul, Andria (Ryan) Garber, Grant (Molly) Shellabarger, Jeremy (Ti-Anna) Lockhart, Danielle Sowers, Teddy Thorn, and Maggie Polson; 8 great-grandchildren; and life-long friend and cousin Geraldine Pierce. Anna was a graduate of Southern High School in Baltimore City, Maryland. She went on to work as a beautician and eventually served at the Greenville Country Club for 13 years, which she enjoyed very much.

She also loved to garden, sew, care for her animals, and collect primitive antiques. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
