Myrrl Spence Shellhaas, age 104, of West Milton fell asleep in death on September 7, 2018 after a long battle with dementia. She was born in Newton, Mississippi to Enice and J.C. Spence. She moved to the Dayton are when she was 3 years old.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 6 sisters and 6 brothers; her husband Russell D. Shellhaas and a son John R. Shellhaas. Myrrl was a long time member of the Brush Creek Church of God. She retired from the Milton-Union Schools as a cafeteria worker.

She was proud that she had played 4 years of varsity basketball on the Vandalia-Butler women’s team. Mother loved her family that included relatives, and friends alike. She is survived by a daughter Sally Pestle (Jesse), son David Shellhaas (Rose), 9 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Curtis Cemetery, Kessler-Frederick Rd, West Milton. Arrangements are in care of Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, West Milton. Online memories of Myrrl may be left for the family at www.
