Annamarie Branney Gilman passed away on December 21, 2018, in Haven Hospice, in Edison. She was born on August 2nd, 1926, to Anna and Bill Branney. She attended Rahway Public Schools and was Crowned Little Miss Rahway in 1929.

When she was older, she worked for Merck and played some professional basketball, a sport she loved all her life. She also enjoyed working for Rahway Glass, The Surety Association of America and The Woodbridge Township School District. She loved each job and always gave 100% of herself to the task at hand.

Annamarie was also a Life Member of The American Legion Auxiliary, Unit #5. She was very active throughout the years, holding many offices including President. She was a Deacon and very active for many years in the First Presbyterian Church in Rahway.

Annie loved all sports, but her heart was with the New York Mets, New York Giants, Kansas University, and Villanova NCAA Basketball teams. She got her most joy spending time with her family and friends. Annamarie was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Bill Branney.

She leaves behind a loving family, her brother, Ron Branney (Annie), San Diego, Ca. , Daughter, Karen Hommel (Charlie), Vero Beach, FL, Sons, Gary, Lee’s Summit, MO and Bobby (Belinda), Olathe, KS. Nana will also be remembered by her grandchildren, Charlie Hommel (Angie), Colonia, NJ, Melinda Hommel, Port Reading, NJ, Cali Gilman, Brooklyn, NY, Kate and Jenny Gilman, Kansas City, MO.

Nana will be lovingly remembered by 4 Great Grandchildren, CJ, Dylan and Hailey Hommel, Colonia, NJ and William Hommel, Port Reading, NJ.
