Obituary of Anne Hayes Anne Trant Hayes, born April 4, 1923, died October 2, 2018. Pre-deceased by parents, Michael & Norma (Joyce) Trant; husband, Donald F. Hayes; sisters, Helen Walker and Margaret “Peg” Moss; and granddaughter, Kimberly Stiles. Survived by her sister, Jane Kwasigroch; children, Martha Stiles, Michael (Kathy) Hayes, Brian (Rev.

Pam) Hayes, Margaret Bishop, Andrew (Judy) Hayes, Robert (Maribel) Hayes, Richard Hayes, Peter (Katherine) Hayes, Mary Clare (Juan Carlos) Pérez de León, Anne Franklin and Maria (Jim) Sherwood; 24 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews. Anne was a life-long resident of Syracuse, a devout and active member of All Saints Church, and a beloved mother to all of her children and their spouses. After raising her 11 children, she worked for Syracuse University’s English Department and Project Advance, all jobs she enjoyed very much.

After 15 years, she retired to provide care for her husband, Don. She was proud of all her children and was thankful for the attention she so richly deserved. She had many endearing qualities, including being a wonderful cook and knitter.

Her greatest quality was her ability to actively listen! Every person she spoke with knew that their story was empathetically heard. She had a kind word for all and spoke ill of no one.

She lived an exemplary life and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at All Saints Church, 1340 Lancaster Avenue, Syracuse, NY, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, officiated by Fr. Fred Daley.

Inurnment will be at the family’s at Onondaga County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. Memorial gifts can be made to All Saints Church or to HOPE for Bereaved, 4500 Onondaga Blvd, Syracuse, NY 13219. Arrangements are with Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel.
