Annetta Nix Howell (88) of Roy Utah, passed away Febuary 1, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born January 20, 1931 in Blanding Utah to Jay and Lucile Nix. She was so proud of her pioneer heritage and told many stories of her childhood, she loved the desert where she was from and the mountains where she spent so much of her youth.

Her family moved to Colorado in 1945, she called Fruita home the rest of her life. She married Rex Howell of Fruita, and moved to the Howell Ranch, they started their family and had 3 children in Colorado and moved to Utah in 1960, it was a hard move for her, with 2 small boys and a newborn daughter, they had 3 more children. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She loved the Gospel and had a strong testimony of the Savior. She loved her family, especially the grandkids and great grandkids. She loved animals, gardening, and cooking.

Her grandkids say she made gravy so good you could drink it. She is survived by her children Vern and Shelly Howell of Loma Colorado, Don and Jody Howell of Syracuse Utah, Ronda Howell and Kathy Howell of Roy Utah, Jared and Jodi Howell of Roy Utah and Chris and Amy Howell of West Point Utah, 17 grandchildren and their spouses, 25 great grandchildren and one on the way. Her sister Jayne Hawks of Fruita Colorado and many nieces nephews and friends that are also family, She was preceded in death by her Husband Rex, Her parents Jay and Lucile Nix, her brothers Paul Nix, Joel Nix, and brother in law Jerry Hawks.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 4, 2019, at 11:30 AM at the Roy 14th Ward located at 5850 S. 2575 W. with a viewing at the church prior to services between 10 AM and 11:15 AM.
