Anthony G. Stabilo, 83, passed away Thursday March 7, 2019 at Mercy Hospital. Born in Springfield, December 20, 1935, he was the son of the late Francesco and Maria (Magaletta) Stabilo. Tony worked as an engineer for the railroad for over 42 years including Amtrak, Conrail, and Boston and Ohio.

He was an avid golfer, a New England Patriot and Boston Red Sox fan and loved working for the railroad. He was predeceased by his first wife, Janet (Robertson) who died in 1970. He leaves his beloved wife, Barbara A. (Carroll) Stabilo, his loving children, Thomas and his wife Kelly of Westfield and Kim Brehaut of Wilbraham, his sister, Dolly Innarelli of Lehigh Acres, FL.

, his grandchildren, Anthony, Jessica, David, Thomas and Kelli, his great grandchildren, Atlas, Kade, Madison, Olivia, Darren, Gabriel and Vincent, and his stepdaughters, Diane Knowles and her husband Brian of F.Hills and Donna Fieldhouse of F. Hills. Tony was predeceased by his son Joseph who died in 2013. The calling hours will be Thursday March 14, 2019 from 9:30 am-11am from the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St. West Springfield with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to follow in St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 11:30am.

Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Springfield.
