BEVERLY – Arlene May “G.G.” (Larrabee) Doble, 90, died Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Brookdale of Danvers. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Wendall Doble, Jr. who died in 2016. Born in Peabody on June 17, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Etta Larrabee.

She was raised by her grandparents, Timothy and Mary Larrabee. She and her husband, Ralph were longtime residents of Beverly before moving to Brookdale. Arlene was a graduate of Peabody High School at the age… Read More » of 17, where she was a member of the National Honor Society.

She was employed as a telephone operator for The Bell Telephone Company for several years. While at the phone company, she went on a blind double date with a co-worker and met her husband, Ralph. Along with being a housewife and amazing grandmother, she later worked part-time at the United Shoe Machinery Corp.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Doble; two daughters, Sharon Gapski and Laurie Meisner and her husband, Bill; two grandchildren, Emily Doble and Heather Steiner and her husband, Dean and three loving great-grandchildren, Holden Zimmerman, Hunter Zimmerman and Kennedy Steiner. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Walter Gapski. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday in the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.

Interment will be held in North Beverly Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. , 309 Waverley Oaks Rd.
