Arthalia Marie (Walker) James June 5, 1937 – March 26, 2019 Arthalia Marie (Walker) James born June 5, 1937, passed from this life March 26, 2019, at her Atlanta TX home. She was 81 years of age. Arthalia is preceded in death by her parents Dixie and Bennie (Nickleberry) Walker; brother Laurs Walker; and sisters Lorene Walker and Lareader Allen.

She is survived by her devoted husband Elmer James of Atlanta TX; sons Terence James and wife Shirl of Queen City TX, and Billy Joe Childs of Fairfield CA; brother Leon Walker of Queen City TX; sisters Lennie Walker of Queen City TX, Ovelia Lewis of Portland OR, and Vannie Richardson of Queen City TX; five grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Arthalia was a loving woman; she cared for those around her. She loved her family and her hats.

She was a beautiful woman. Arthalia’s smile was infectious and she was always willing to make your day better. She loved people and shared her joyful countenance with everyone.

Arthalia’s services will be under the direction of Queen City Funeral Home. Her visitation at the funeral home will begin Friday, April 5, 2019 at 4:00 PM and end at 6:00 PM. Arthalia asked specifically for an afternoon visitation so that her friends could come by to visit her, one last time, on their way home from work.

Her funeral services will be held in Queen City TX at Oak Grove Baptist Church, beginning at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 6, 2019. She will be interred immediately following her services at Queen City Cemetery in Queen City TX. Digital condolences may be placed in her honor at www.
