Graveside services for Arthella (Blanton) Abercrombie, age 83, of Chandler are scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Bill Ballou and Bro. James Youngman officiating. Arthella died on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 peacefully in Chandler, Texas.

She was born October 24, 1935 in Emory, Texas to the late Oscar Tinnon Blanton and Rastus (Sparks) Blanton Jones. Arthella grew up in Emory where she graduated high school and fell in love with S. R. Abercombie after he returned from war as a Sergeant in the Army. They were married on July 30, 1954.

Arthella was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her husband of 64 years S.R. (Shelby Ray) Abercombie preceded her in death by 25 days. Her parents, Oscar Tinnon Blanton and Rastus Granddaughter (Sparks) Blanton Jones.

Her Brother, Gerald Blanton;, Amber Abercrombie; Great grandson Charlie Jack England and Great granddaughter Emory Faith England. Arthella is survived by Daughter and Son-In-Law, Lynn and Lynn Allison of Pampa, Texas; Son and Daughter-In-Law Ray and Brenda Abercrombie of Ben Wheeler, Texas; Daughter and Son-In Law Lesa and Tim England, Chandler, Texas; and Son and Daughter in Law, Larry and Sharon Abercrombie of Lindale, Texas. Grandchildren, Mindi Jernigan of Tyler, Texas; Shelbie and Trey Glover of Tyler, Texas; Chad and Ashley England of Houston, Texas; Brian and Menissa Abercrombie of Flint, Texas; Cortnie and Mark Patterson of Pampa, Texas; Shana and Cory Caldwell of Lindale, Texas; Andrea Abercrombie of Lindale, Texas; and Krisi and Andy Buckholtz of Tyler; and 18 great grandchildren.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Chad England, Trey Glover, Brian Abercrombie, Mark Patterson, Cory Caldwell, and Andy Buckholtz. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
