Stephen Powell, age 67, of Tyler, Texas died Friday, January 18, 2019 in a Tyler, Texas hospital. He was born on August 31, 1951 in Bonham, Texas to the late T. O’Dell and Dorothy Willis (Chancey) Powell and was a longtime resident of the Sand Flat Community. Stephen retired from Tyler State Park after 30 years as a Park Superintendent.

He then went to work for and retired from the University of Texas at Tyler Hospital. Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Renee Powell of Tyler, Texas; son & daughter-in-law, Justin & Marcie Powell of Lindale, Texas; daughter, Charla Tillery of Tyler, Texas; grandchildren, Abigail Powell of Lindale, Texas, Jake Powell of Lindale, Texas, Stephen Tillery of Tyler, Texas, Spencer Tillery of Tyler, Texas and Jocelyn Staton of Oklahoma; several great grandchildren; 3 brothers; 1 sister; and a host of other dear family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas.
