Graveside services for Mr. C. R. “Rudy” Gimble, age 94 of Tyler, are scheduled for 3:30 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the New Harmony Cemetery in the New Harmony Community with Pastor Larry Craig and Pastor Brandon Holiski officiating. Services are under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. Mr. Gimble died Saturday, March 2, 2019 in an assisted living center in Tyler.

He was born October 4, 1924 to the late Paul and Dollie Frances (Cates) Gimble. Mr. Gimble was raised in New Harmony and a longtime resident of Tyler. He served in the Navy during WWII and was a deacon of the Southern Oaks Baptist Church in Tyler.

Mr. Gimble retired from Southwestern Bell in 1987. He was preceded in death by his wife; Joye Gimble in 1995, infant daughter, Susan Gimble, 2 brothers; Zan and Herman Gimble, sisters and brothers-in-law, Margie and Milton Adams and Daphene and Ed Caudle, and infant grandson, J. R. Brown, Jr Mr. Gimble is survived by his daughter, Gina Brown and husband, John of North Carolina; sons, Mark Gimble and wife, Susan of Tyler; Terry Gimble of Whitehouse; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Jean Gimble of New Harmony; sisters-in-law, Nita Gimble of Georgia; and Daisy Milam of Carroll Community; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. Memorials may be made to the Southern Oaks Baptist Church 601 East Amherst Drive Tyler, Texas 75701 or to the New Harmony Cemetery fund 18165 CR 416 Tyler, Texas 75704.
