Obituary for Arthur J Elliott Arthur J. Elliott, age 67, of Elizabethton, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Elizabethton. Arthur was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee to the late Lawson and Gertrude Bowman Elliott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Elliott; and a sister, Peggy Reynolds.
Arthur retired from American Water Heater/ Mor-Flo in 1962 but had worked for Blue Ridge Heating and Air for many years as well. He was of the Free Will Baptist faith and was known as a real “fire cracker”. He was a witty, funny, kind-hearted and gentle man.
Arthur loved to watch Westerns and the Tennessee Vols. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Laura Julian, of Elizabethton; his sister, Judy Townsend, of Hampton; two grandchildren, Dylan Tuelle, of Knoxville and Hannah Julian, of Elizabethton; and a sister-in-law, Marie Elliott, of Hampton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Arthur J. Elliott will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor John Stevens, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Wednesday. The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 27, 2018 in the Blevins Cemetery in the Tiger Creek Community of Roan Mountain.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ford Townsend, Jerry Cullers, Todd Smith and Jack Smith.
