Barbara Ann Forrest December 29, 1941 – December 20, 2018 Share this obituary Local Florists Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Funeral services for Barbara Ann Forrest, 76, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mark A. Newton officiating. A private family burial will be held. Mrs. Forrest was born December 29, 1941 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Ruby (Skinner) and Cecil Herman Nevills, and died Thursday, December 20, 2018 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Forrest was a lifelong resident of Angelina County. She was a graduate of Lufkin High School and was a volunteer at the alumni office of Lufkin High School. She worked at Haygood’s Sporting Good and War Surplus and retired from Etox, Inc. Being with family was her favorite pastime.
She loved children, her family and friends, and God with all her heart. Nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and great-nephews were just like her own, and were very special to her. She was a member of First Baptist Church Lufkin and the Geneva Sunday School class.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, George Wayne Forrest of Lufkin; brother, Cecil “Seedy” Nevills and wife Robin of Lufkin; nieces and nephews, Debbie Sebastian of Hemphill, Tina and Dwayne Turner of Huntington, Bubba and Rachelle Nevills of Lufkin, Lindsay and Kendall Thurman of Lufkin, Shelby and Jeremy Bryan of Huntington, Rodney and Marie Forrest of Lufkin, and Debbie and Clark Bewley of Huntington; great-nieces and nephews, Brax Turner, Macy Turner, Kagen Nevills, Magen Nevills, Claire Bryan, Weston Bryan, and Cooper Thurman; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Larry Nevills and Kenneth Nevills. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Turner, Bubba Nevills, Kendall Thurman, Jeremy Bryan, Brax Turner, Kagen Nevills, and Rodney Forrest.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her ICU nurses and the nurses at Hospice in the Pines. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lufkin Alumni Association, P.O. Box 150837, Lufkin, Texas 75915, First Baptist Church Lufkin, 106 E. Bremond Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901, or Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon prior to the services at the funeral home.
