Barbara Ann Mehring, 85 was born Jan 21, 1933 in East Orange, NJ and died Apr 18, 2018, at Watrous Nursing Center, Madison, CT. She was a most beloved daughter and granddaughter. She was predeceased by her parents, Edna (Ernst) and Randall H. Mehring and nephew John R.P. Dornik and niece Lauranne (Dornik) May.

She is survived by her devoted sister Lydia (Mehring) Dornik and brother-in-law John Dornik, niece Jennifer (Dornik) Cuzio and grandnieces Alexis (Baker) Nolan and Erica L. Baker and grandnephews Taylor, Ryan and Dylan May. She is also survived by her beloved aunt Iris May. Barbara lived with her sister and brother-in-law in Madison, for over 18 years then went to live at Gardenside Assisted Living, Branford, CT for the next 12 1/2 years, where she joyfully served as the unofficial greeter, in the main lobby.

Her passions were her church, church choir and bowling. She was sheltered by and participated in the SARAH program for the challenged, for over 32 years, for which we are very grateful. Hawley Lincoln Funeral Home Guilford, CT is in charge of arrangements.

The burial will be private, at the family’s request. A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church, Branford, CT at a later date.
