Barbara Ann Swafford passed away peacefully at her home on December 23, 2018. Graveside Service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, January 05, 2019 at Laurel Land Memorial Park, 6000 SRL Thornton Freeway, Dallas, Texas, 75232 with Pastor Jack Ables officiating. Barbara was born on November 05, 1938 in Big Spring, Texas to Herbert and Mildred Rule.

She was raised on a sheep ranch where she worked on her horse from sunrise until sunset. In 1956, Barbara and her family moved to Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Sunset High School in 1957.

She worked as bookkeeper for 20 years and retired in 2004 to take care of her aging parents. Barbara was known to be an extremely private woman, she kept many things to herself. One thing she did share with the world was her beautiful flower garden.

She also loved animals, especially goats, dogs and cats. Barbara’s presence will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Charles W. Swafford; step-sons, Lee Swafford, Mike Swafford and Doug Swafford; sister, Jeanene Gendron; and many other family members and friends.
