Barbara A. Strong of Thomas Township, formerly of Merrill, Michigan Passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the age of 79 years. She was daughter of the late Stanley and Anna (Suchoki) Jackiewicz, Barbara was born on January 3, 1939 in Saginaw County. Barbara retired from Merrill Public Schools after 25 years of service as a bus driver.

Barbara especially enjoyed canning, cooking, gardening, sewing, playing cards, playing Yahtzee, going to the casino, going to the beauty shop, manicures and spending time with her family and friends. Surviving besides her husband of 60 years, Leon Strong; are four children, Lynae (Mark) Carson, Michelle (Jeff) Steed, Michael Strong and Paulette (Troy) Bell; five grandchildren, Derek DeVerney, Daryl (Tonya) DeVerney, Roscoe (Tonya) Conklin, Stacey Bell, Troy Bell and Dan Bell; three great-grandchildren, Terian DeVerney, River Conklin and Rocky Conklin. Also surviving are a sister, Lorraine Latty and many friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Vincent Jackiewicz, Francis Jackiewicz and Louise McNeil. Honoring Barbara’s wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Lakefield Township Hall, 21050 Lakefield Road, Merrill, Michigan, 48637.
