Obituary for Barbara Bizarro Barbara “Omie” Bizarro Somerset, New Jersey Barbara Bizarro passed away on Tuesday April 24, 2018 at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 85 years old. Barbara was born on March 16, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Charles and Hilda Gabriel, whom she is predeceased by.

She lived in Youngstown, Ohio for many years with her growing family. Barbara also resided in Dunellen and Piscataway, NJ prior to relocating and retiring to Port St Lucie, and then finally, Bradenton, Florida. She most recently moved back to New Jersey just short of 2 years ago.

She was employed for many years by NJ Bell as a Telephone Operator. Barbara loved to crochet and knit. She was known for her large and heavy handmade wool blankets.

She also enjoyed her daily crossword puzzle. She was affectionately known to many as, “Omie”. Barbara is predeceased by her first husband, Fred Dahler, second husband, Tony Bizarro, daughter, Joanne Dahler, sister-in-law, Gertie Prest, son-in-law, John Simon and great-grandson, Michael Simon.

Barbara is survived by her beloved children, Cindy Simon of Carmel, NY, Chuck and his wife Mary Lou Dahler of East Amwell, Ken and his wife Cheryl Dahler of Clinton, and Barbara and her husband Anthony Rossi of Somerset. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, Robert and his wife Emily, Matthew and his wife Kimberly, Andrew and his wife Caitlin, Amanda and her husband Nicholas, Stephen and his wife Jennelle, Kelly, Erika, Kenneth and fiancé Dana, Rachael, Anthony Jr., and Alexa and her great-grandchildren, Bobby, Emma, Elijah, Mikayla, Hannah, Celia, Brady, and Cameron. She is also survived by her loving companion William “Bill” Mitchell of Bradenton, Florida.

Omie will be missed dearly but her family finds peace in knowing that she is now reunited with loved ones that left her too soon. Visitation will take place at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, in Somerset, NJ on Sunday, April 29, from 2-6 PM. A final blessing will begin at 5:30 PM.
