Obituary for Placido Gangitano Placido Gangitano, 82, died Friday, October 05, 2018 at St. Peter University Medical Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Mr. Gangitano was born October 12, 1935 in Sicily, Italy to the late Joseph and Francesca (Vaccaro) Gangitano. In 1961, Placido immigrated to the States and settled in Somerset; and relocated to South Bound Brook with his family He was a factory worker in South Bound Brook and was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church.

Mr. Gangitano was predeceased by his brothers, Antonino Gangitano and Michele Gangitano and his sister, Frances Barbiero. He is survived by his brother, Salvatore Gangitano of South Bound Brook; His brother in Law, Cosimo Barbiero of South Bound Brook; his sister, Joanne Birlardo of California and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ 08873 on Thursday, October 11th from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Funeral services will follow and begin at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Mercy Church in South Bound Brook, NJ.

Interment will be at St. Peter Cemetery in New Brunswick.
