Obituary for Louis Auerbach Louis Auerbach, 90, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Avalon Nursing Home in Hillsborough, New Jersey. Mr. Auerbach was born October 24, 1927 in Edison, New Jersey to the late Lawrence and Elizabeth Auerbach. He settled in Franklin Township where he was a lifelong resident.

Louis honorably served in the Navy during World War II. He was a carpenter for Union locals 455 and 254. He was a longtime parishioner at Our Lady of Mercy Church in South Bound Brook.

In his spare time, Louis was a South Bound Brook Little League Manager. Louis enjoyed the outdoors, he especially loved fresh and salt water fishing and was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed tending his vast garden.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Auerbach, his brothers George, Ernie and Tommy Auerbach. He is survived by his children, Louis Auerbach Jr., Nancy and her husband Robert Sayre, Lawrence and his wife JoAnne Auerbach, Ronald and his wife Joann Auerbach; his sister, Irene DiGiacomo; his grandchildren, Alyssia, Amanda, Lawrence Jr., Colin and Alexa, many nieces and nephews and his devoted companion and friend, Nancy Puchalek. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, October 24th from 2-4 P.M. and 7-9 P.M. at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ 08873.

Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mercy Church in South Bound Brook. Final disposition will be private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Louis Auerbach’s name to the American Cancer Society, www.
