Obituary for Helen Poff Helen Poff, 91, entered into the nearer presence of God on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the Avalon in Hillsborough, New Jersey. Mrs. Poff was born June 4, 1926 in Jermyn, Pennsylvania to the late Wasil and Julia (Danyo) Bowan. Helen grew up in Jermyn, PA and Binghamton, NY.

She lived in North Arlington, West Caldwell, and Monroe Township before recently settling in Hillsborough. Until her retirement, Helen work for various firms in their accounting departments. She was a caring mother to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a magnificent homemaker, maintaining her home for her family and loved to cook the greatest tasting meals. Helen also loved crafts, especially knitting and crocheting. Mrs. Poff was the last of her 12 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Vance H. Poff; her sons, Gregory Poff and his wife Sallye and Douglas Poff and his wife Kathy; her grandchildren, Gregory II, Brian and Cori; her great grandchildren, Vance, Catherine, and Ben; her sister in law, Dorothy Bowan; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ 00873 on Thursday, April 26th, from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 27th, at 11:00 AM.

Pastor George Montinari of Middlebush Reformed Church will be officiating. Burial will follow at Brainerd Cemetery in Cranbury.
