Obituary for Barbara Lucille Collins (Gillenwater) Barbara G. Collins – Church Hill, TN Barbara G. Collins, 86, Church Hill, TN passed away, Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Elmcroft of Kingsport. Barbara was born in Scott County, VA on April 9, 1932, and was the daughter of the late Logan and Nancy (Sanders) Gillenwater. In addition to her parents, her husband, Jack D. Collins (2009); sisters, Gladys Stapleton, Pansy Johnson, Charlie Mae Osborne, and Patsy Sawyers; and brothers, Ross, Lee, Kyle, and Billy Gillenwater preceded her in death.
Surviving are her sons, Sam Collins and wife, Linda, Jonesborough, TN, Steve Collins and wife, Sandy, Dungannon, VA, and Sid Collins and Becky, Nickelsville, VA; grandchildren, Morgan Petty and husband, Nolan, Sherwin Taylor and husband, Butch, Jesse Collins and wife, Amber, Jamie Maine and wife, Mikella Jennifer Elam and husband, Robert, Lindsay Farmer and husband, Brandon, Dalton Collins, and Daniel Devine; great grandchildren, Clay Taylor, Chase Taylor, Eva Collins, Ava and Ethan Maine, Abby and Anna Farmer, and Easton Elam; brother, Jack Gillenwater and wife, Joyce, Kingsport, TN; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev.
Steve Collins officiating. Minnie Lynn Bates will be providing the music. Entombment services will follow at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, VA.
