Obituary for Miles L. Begley Miles L. Begley – Gate City, VA Miles Begley, 64, Gate City, VA passed away, Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Miles was born in Sullivan County, Tennessee on October 25, 1954. He was the son of the late Ray Carson Begley and Edna Mae (Jones) Begley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John F. Begley and a special uncle, Harold Begley. Miles worked for Eastman as an electrician, retiring in 2010 after 37 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising cattle, and watching old westerns with his family.

Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Chris Begley, of the home; daughter; Melissa McQuail and husband Dan, Ft. Mill, SC; son, Jason Begley, Roanoke, VA; sisters; Connie K. Begley and Deborah M. Begley Lawson, Rogersville, TN; brothers, Ricky M. Begley and Jamie R. Begley, Rogersville, TN; his sweet grandson, Silas McQuail; along with 7 nieces and nephews and 10 great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Gate City Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Bob Cloud officiating. Music will be provided by Michelle McDavid and Anita McClain.

Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, January 19, 2019 at Begley Cemetery on Hancock Road, in Scott County. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Gate City Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. to go in procession. Ricky Ray Begley, Claude Begley, Roger Begley, Roger Price, Clayton McDavid and Les Barnes will serve as pallbearers.

Dwight Lane will serve as honorary pallbearer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alley’s Chapel Church Scholarship Fund, c/o Jessica Steele, State Hwy. 665 and State Hwy 627, Gate City, VA 24251 or to the Manville Community Center, c/o Peggy Price, 111 Sorrel Creek Road, Gate City, VA 24251 in Miles’ memory.
