Obituary for Richard Sidney Rudder Print Richard Sidney Rudder, 62, Dungannon, Virginia Richard Sidney Rudder, 62 of Dungannon Virginia passed away on Friday February 15, 2019, at Holston Valley Hospital & Medical Center. He was born in Wise county, Virginia on February 13, 1957 to the late Jack and Joan (Mann) Rudder. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Charles (Tony) Anthony Rudder.

Richard was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had a great sense of humor and loved pulling pranks on his friends and family. But above all he loved his family.

He is also now reunited with his prankster friend, Ross Elliott. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, the love of his life, Donna Francisco Rudder, of the home, he was the love of her life as well; daughters Amanda Roberts, Dungannon, VA, and Ivy Rudder, Weber City, VA; brother, Ed Rudder and wife Sharon, Coeburn, VA; granddaughters, Kayleigh Roberts and Avery Cordle; niece, Morgan Rudder Culbertson; nephew, Tucker Falin; along with a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Gate City Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 p.m. There will be a Masonic Service for Richard immediately before the funeral service begins.

The funeral service will follow in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Larry Beavers, and Rev. Jackie McGowan officiating.

Chris Holder and Journey Home will be providing the music. Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., at Francisco Cemetery in the Big Moccasin community of Scott County, Virginia. Terry Dockery, Derek Corder, Eddie Collins, Buddy Beavers, Sid Collins, and Clifford Gillenwater will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary Pallbearers are Eric Phillips, Brad Murphy, Tucker Falin, and Jeff Francisco. An online guest register is available for the Rudder family at www. gatecityfunerals.com.
