Obituary for Mary Louise Courtney (Ross) Print Mary Louise (Ross) Courtney, faithful sister, aunt and friend, 68 of Gate City, VA received her wings too early on Sunday, January 19, 2019. Mary Louise, a graduate of Gate City High School also studied at Clinch Valley College in Wise, VA. She worked several jobs within the Tri-Cities that included the Eastman Kodak Co., H&R Block and Colonial Downs.
She also worked and lived in Northern, VA. Mary was a faithful Christian. One whom believed that you should put God first in all that you.
She never questioned things that happened throughout her life journey. Mary understood that God would make a way, He is in control and she didn’t believe in worrying. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Doretha Ross and her sister, Geneva Ross.
Mary is survived by her brother, Wallace W. Ross, Gate City, VA; nieces, Keana Walker, Washington, D.C. and Jonikki Cope, Gate City, VA; cousins, extended adopted nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family will celebrate Mary’s life on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Gate City Funeral Home, Gate City, VA. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home Repass 7:00 PM will be held at Hales Chapel United Methodist Church, Gate City, VA.
