Obituary for Karen “Cookie” Rosa Faust (Cook) Karen “Cookie” Faust – Hiltons, VA Karen “Cookie” Faust, 57, Hiltons, VA passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at her home. She was born and raised in Powder Springs, TN to Peggy Corbin Cook and the late Robert Cook. She received her nursing degree from Saint Mary’s School of Nursing and was employed as a registered nurse for 36 years at Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was an active member of Mt. Vernon UMC where she faithfully played her beloved piano. In addition to her father; her brother-in-law, Alan Faust preceded her in death.
Surviving is her mother, Peggy Cook Ferguson and husband, Otis; husband of 35 years, Neal Faust; son, Clint Faust; daughter, Heather Bruner and husband, Jeremy; grandchildren, Gage, Linkoln “Tater” and Emmalin; sister, Kim Cook and husband, Mike; special nephew, AJ Berryman. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, January 6, 2019 in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Vickie Carter and Pastor Will Shewey officiating.
Dale Jett and Oscar Harris will provide the music. Burial will follow the service Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the Mt. Vernon UMC Cemetery, Hiltons, VA.
Bryan Berryman, AJ Berryman, Mike Cook, Michael Hale, Larry Tipton and Trevor Keller will serve as pallbearers. The young men of Hiltons will serve as honorary pallbearers. Cookie’s kindness and selflessness compared to no other.
She will be dearly missed. A special thanks to The Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Atlanta and her special friend, Jennifer Baker. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Mt.
