Obituary for Ruth Dishner Vebia “Ruth Dishner” Duffield, VA Ruth Dishner, 90, Duffield, VA passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 in Kingsport, TN. She was born in Scott County, VA on July 5, 1928 to the late John and Pearl Fraley Giles. In addition to her parents, her husband, Donald Dishner and son, Phillip Dishner preceded her in death; along with several brothers and sisters.
Ruth was a member of Thomas Village Baptist Church, Duffield, VA. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Fleda Kern and husband, Toddy, Duffield, VA, Teresa Ladd and husband, Ronald, Kingsport, TN; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Dishner, Johnson City, TN; sons, Larry Dishner and wife, Sandra, Kingsport, TN, Richard Dishner, Duffield, VA and her son of the heart, Bradley Humphrey, Cleveland , OH; grandchildren, Scott Dishner, Brandon Dishner, Quinton Ladd, Jodie Kern-Bowen, Casey Kern Wells, Dianna Dishner Stocton, Devin Dishner, Josh Dishner, Shane Dishner, Jonathan Dishner and Bradley Dishner; along with 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from,11:00a.m.-12:30p.m., Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the Gate City Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Darrell Fletcher officiating. Nathaniel Smith will provide the music. Burial will follow the service at the Fraley Cemetery in Pattonsville, VA.
