Obituary for Berlie Johnson Berlie Johnson, 97, of Bald Knob, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the Izard County Medical Center in Calico Rock. He was born August 29, 1920 in Etowah, Mississippi to the late John Franklin and Gurtrue (Trucks) Johnson. Berlie was a farmer and worked in agriculture; he also was an evangelist and spoke all over the nation for 60+ years.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Johnson; children, Paul Johnson, Judy Johnson, Patsy Johnson, Jackie Martin and Mary Bellflower; 10 grandchildren, 8 step-children, Addie Hicks, Roy & Robbie Hoyle, Sammy & Jackie Hoyle, Billy & Carol Hoyle, Paul & Mary Hoyle, Bill & Cindy Drazer and Oscar & Maria Hoyle; 32 step-grandchildren and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and two daughters, Glenda and Robin Johnson. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob with services to begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Lonoke Cemetery.
