Bernard’s Obituary Bernard Richard Zawalick, 89, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Christmas morning, Tuesday, December 25, 2018. The son of Felix and Mary (Stodolniak) Zawalick was born April 22, 1929, in Sobieski, Wisconsin. On August 20, 1955, he married Nancy Ann Palubicki in Hofa Park.

She preceded him in death in 1992. Bernie joined the U.S. Navy in 1947 and served his country for 23 years, travelling much of the world, until his retirement from the Navy in 1970. He moved his family to Green Bay and he worked in the Bellin Hospital maintenance department for another 20 years until retirement in 1990.

He will be remembered for his never-ending sense of humor. Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl (Loren) Beilfuss, Susan (Joe) DeLong; grandsons, Matt (Erin) Perry, Ben (Alicen) Perry, and Ethan (Amanda) DeLong; and great-grandchildren, Phoenix and Savannah Perry. Bernie is also survived by sisters-in-law, Julee Zawalick and Shirley Zawalick; brother-in-law, Fritz Janus; in-laws, Don (Ruth) Palubicki, Ray (Grace) Palubicki, Marilyn (Wally) Christiansen; many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; granddaughter, Samantha Rae DeLong; brothers, Ted and Leo; sisters, Jeanette (Louis) Babik, Alice (John) Ignatowski, Vi Janus, and Lorraine (Daniel) Slezewski. A very special thank you to the caring staffs of Tender Hearts Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice. , Green Bay with a Parish Wake Service to be held at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, December 29 at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2771 Oakwood Dr., until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. which will be celebrated by Sengole Dass, assisted by Sister Marla Clerx, A.N.G.; concluding with Military Honors.
