Bert E. Alvord, 76, of Olney, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. Bert was born on April 15, 1942 in Wayne County, IL, the son of Charles and Sara Scott, and was adopted by parents Bert and Viola (Fulk) Alvord. He married Wynona (Weidner-Royse) on August 15, 1981 and she survives.

Bert was a fork truck driver for AMF and then Roadmaster for many years. He also worked at the old shoe factory as a fork truck driver for many years also. Bert loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings very much!

He was an avid fan of NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson. His hobbies included fishing, joking, and making people laugh. Bert is survived by his wife, Wynona Alvord of Olney; son, Chuck (Karla) Alvord of Lawrenceville; daughter, Cheryl Lynn Ash of Lawrenceville; daughter, Belinda Alvord and fiancé Vernon Wyatt of Olney; step-daughter, Dana Abernathy and Joe Reid of Olney; step-daughter, Debbie Royse and Joe Gates of Clarksville, TN; step-son, Donnie Royse of Denver, CO; step-son, Duane Royse of Denver, CO; and several nieces and nephews, and grandchildren; sister, Betty Jordan of Chillicothe, IL; brother, John (Marsha) Scott of Bridgeport; sister, Judy (Robert) Rennier of Olney; and sister-in-law, Peggy Wooden of Clay City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Viola Alvord, and several brothers. Memorials can be made to the family. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 22, 2019, at the Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning at 9:00 AM.

Cremation Rites were accorded.
