Obituary for Bette J. Meads Bette J. Meads, age 89, of Tecumseh, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018. She was born on August 11, 1928 to parents Frederick and Genevieve (Reynolds) Gordon and was raised in Rockford, MI with her seven siblings. Bette took a job in Tecumseh, MI where she met Robert H. Meads.

They married on May 27, 1949. Together they had two children, Gail Lynn Daniels and Michael Gordon Meads. Bette worked various jobs to support her family throughout the years.

She finished her career working for Ford Motor Company of Saline. She and her husband truly believed in giving back to the community and together were active volunteers for Love Inc., Meals on Wheels, and Habitat for Humanity. She also enjoyed participating at church events at Tecumseh United Methodist Church, however, her true passion was baking.

Bette is survived by her loving husband, Robert H. Meads; her daughter, Gail Lynn Daniels; four granddaughters: Brandie (Cameron) Taulbee, Erika (George) Eloff, Cortney (Joseph) Harris, and Jessica (Barry) Kallen; seven great-grandchildren: Carly, Lyla, Claire, Riley, Olivia, Hudson, and Henry; and daughter-in-law, Brenda Fernandez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Genevieve Gordon; her son, Michael Gordon Meads, and seven siblings. Memorial contributions can be made in Bette’s name to Angela Hospice, Tecumseh United Methodist Church, or Habitat for Humanity.

A memorial service will be held at Tecumseh United Methodist Church, 605 Bishop Reed Dr., Tecumseh on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 1 p.m. Friends and family welcome to gather at 12:00 p.m. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Bette J.
