Betty Ann Day, 73, departed this life on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. Born March 3, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Ava Burnice Day. “Bet” as she was affectionately known by her family and friends attended the public schools of Burlington and later received her high school equivalent diploma.

She later received an AS degree in Cosmetology from Carolina Beauty College. “Bet’s” employment included Graham Police Department, Graham, NC, Burlington School System, Vocational Trade, Life Span and she recently retired from AmeriCorps in 2017. “Bet” was known for being gracious, having a generous heart, and being loving, strong willed and devoted to her family and friends.

She enjoyed cooking, shopping, traveling and doing hair in her spare time. She leaves to mourn her passing her 5 children: Orlando Hightower, Wallace Hightower, Jr., Darryl Hightower, Torrey Hightower and Devoki Hightower; 18 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Cecelia Day, Vonda Gatling (Stafford) and Mae Morrow (Jerry); four brothers, Billy Day (Connie), Glen Day (Yvonne), William Day (Arlene) and Maurice Day.
