Obituary for Betty Blank Dufrene Betty Blank Dufrene passed away peacefully on April 15, 2018 at the age of 77 years. Beloved mother of Cecile Bordelon, John Gros III (Paula), Timothy Gros (Lisa) and Ronald Gros (Cookie). Grandmother of John IV (Mallory), Neil III (Jamie), Blase, Erica, Nicholas and the late Matthew.

Great-grandmother of one expectant great-grandson, Cullen. Sister of Flo Bladsacker (the late Morris), Diane Leon (Toby) and the late Thelma Blank. Daughter of the late Nelson Blank and Marie Richard Blank.

Also survived by other loving relatives and many friends. Betty graduated from Holy Name of Mary High School and later retired from Louisiana Gas Service/Atmos after over 25 years of dedicated service. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gretna and a member of the St. Joseph Women’s Club.

Betty was active in the Holy Name of Mary High School Alumni association and was instrumental in organizing the Alumni reunions. She touched the hearts and lives of so many during her years. While her passing is sorrowful, her life and legacy will be celebrated.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Restoration Fund. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 Sixth Street in Gretna on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow.
