Obituary for Shirley Marie Strickland Dugas Shirley Marie Strickland Dugas passed away peacefully on April 16, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Beloved mother of Christine Wright, Steven Dugas (Shannon), Mark Dugas (Sandra), the late John Cicotte (Brenda) and Michael Dugas. Grandmother of Andrew Wright, Adam Wright (Kelly), John Cicotte Jr. (Brandi), Anna Cicotte, Melissa Dugas, Robert Dugas (Lacey), Michael Dugas (Lindsay), Nicole Diamond (Mark), Stephanie Johnson (Brandon), Ferrel Dugas and Mark Dugas II.

Sister of Robert and Eugene Strickland, the late Carl Strickland Jr., Nancy Griskles and Elizabeth Moran. Daughter of the late Carl and Viola Smith Strickland. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.

Shirley was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be sadly missed by her family and friends who remain. She had a love for life, always looking forward to her next adventure. She loved Disney World, the New Orleans Saints, cruises and spending time with her family.

The family would also like to extend a special “Thank You” to Melissa Ehr. We are so appreciative for the friendship, love and care that you showed to GG. She considered you one of her granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting peace plants. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy. , Harvey, LA on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, followed by a brief service.
