Betty Cooper McKinney, age 81, of Waynesville, OH, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Brookdale Nursing Home. She was born in Carter City, Kentucky on September 24, 1937 to late Albert and Beed (Parsons) Cooper. She was a Physical Education Teacher at Central Junior High in Xenia for 30 years and retired in June of 1990.

Betty enjoyed camping with her husband, watching UK Basketball and NASCAR. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. Betty will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Oral D. McKinney and brother, Ray Cooper. Betty is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Kevin) Lawson; son, Bryan (Amy) McKinney; grandson, Caleb Lawson; five granddaughters, Ciara Lawson, Carly Lawson, Cheyanne McKinney, Cierra McKinney and Savannah McKinney. Funeral services are 1:00 pm Monday, January 21, 2019 at Anderson Funeral Homes, 40 North Main Street Springboro, OH.

Burial will be in Miami-Corwin Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday prior to service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm also at the funeral home. Donations can be made to the National Breast Cancer Fund or Alzheimer’s Association.
