Betty Jane (Stewart) Rundell of Houghton Lake and formerly of Brant, age 79, passed away Monday evening, July 16, 2018, at Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw. Mrs. Rundell was born in St. Charles Twp. on May 31, 1939, the daughter of the late Clifford and Evelyn (Stewart) Howell.

She graduated from St. Charles High School and then from Delta College School of Nursing with an LPN degree. She had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Owosso Memorial Hospital, Saginaw General Hospital, and various local nursing homes before retiring. She loved gardening.

Those left to cherish her memory include her five children, Maryln (Tim) Kapala of Mt. Morris, Michael Stewart of Hemlock, Maria Miller of Houghton Lake, David (Becky) Stewart of Chesaning, and Mark Stewart of Hemlock; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, William (Marlene) Howell of Saginaw, Lawrence (Patricia) Howell of Albee Twp. , and James (Bernadette) Howell of Chesaning; a sister, Ruth (Ralph) Breggaman of Florida; a brother-in-law, Thomas Wenzel of St. Charles; and several nieces and nephews.

Those who passed away before her include parents; her two husbands, David Jack Stewart and William Taft Rundell, Jr.; an infant son, Stephen Stewart; a sister, Georgann Wenzel; and a brother, Gerald Howell. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be announced later.
