Betty Jean Campbell Hamlett, 80, widow of Vernell Cleveland Hamlett, died Monday, July 23, 2018. Born in Martinsville, VA, August 16, 1937, she was a daughter of the late James Oscar Campbell and Alma Blanche Martin Campbell. Mrs. Hamlett retired after 20 years of employment from Walmart of Greenwood and was a member of First Christian Church.

She was an avid BINGO player and Bird and Nature enthusiast. Surviving are her four children, Darrell Hamlett and wife Lisa, Cheryl Blackwell… Read More » and husband Charlie, Brad Hamlett and wife Amy, all of Greenwood and Beth Hamlett of Waterloo; two sisters, Marie Couch and husband Don of Charleston and Janie McGee of Greenwood; one brother, Jimmy Campbell and wife Rachel of Warner Robins, GA; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren along with her beloved “Bentley”. Mrs. Hamlett was predeceased by a daughter, Everline “Lynn” Hamlett Reep and two sons, Marvin Lee Hamlett and Jody Bart Hamlett and a grandson, Andrew Blair Hamlett.

Private graveside services will be Wednesday in Oakbrook Memorial Park with Rev. Bobby Gilbert officiating. Pallbearers will be Grey Hamlett, Travis White, Chase Hamlett, Keith Todd, Roy Lemmons and Eddie Estes.

The family will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 Wednesday afternoon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to MSA Hospice, 690 Bypass 72 NW, Suite B, Greenwood, SC 29649.
