Betty Jean Freeman Taylor, AR On February 20, 2019, our beloved mother, Betty Jean Davis Freeman, entered the Heavenly church triumphant after battling a lengthy illness. She fought a valiant fight and it was her children’s honor and privilege to care for her throughout her entire journey. She has loved us unconditionally and put our joys before her own our entire lives.
We will miss Mom with our whole hearts until we join her in God’s kingdom, but we rejoice that she is happy and well now in the presence of Jesus our Savior. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday, February 25, 2019, at the Springhill United Methodist Church, Springhill, LA, with Rev. Dr. Jonathan King officiating.
Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery, Springhill, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday, February 25, 2019, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Springhill United Methodist Church, Springhill. Mrs. Freeman was born on March 10, 1931 to William B. and Mary Emma Lee Davis in Gandy, LA and passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 in Taylor, AR.
She was a homemaker, and enjoyed cooking, music, keeping flowers and plants, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her two daughters, Sandy Evans of Taylor, AR, Terri Bernard and husband, Bobby of Baton Rouge, LA; two sons, Charles F. Freeman and wife, Cindy of Lafayette, LA, William Scott Freeman of Taylor, AR; sister, Frankie Dans and husband, Bill of Shreveport, LA; brother, Don Davis and wife, Jennie of Minden, LA; three grandsons, Grant Freeman and wife, Eva of Mandeville, LA, Ross Freeman of Lafayette, LA, Josh Bernard of Baton Rouge, LA; three granddaughters, Caitlin Cotherman and husband, Chris of Jonesboro, LA, Mallory Freeman of Shongaloo, LA, Savannah Freeman of Taylorville, IL; great-granddaughter, Presley Freeman; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, James Fulton Freeman; her parents; brothers, Howard Davis, Herschel Davis, Hoyt Davis, Horace Davis, Bill Davis, Jr., Jerry Davis; and sisters, Lexa Aycock, and Clyda Baten.
Pallbearers will be Charles F. Freeman, William Scott Freeman, Ross Freeman, Josh Bernard, Bobby Bernard, and Kelby Bagwell. Chris Cotherman will serve as an honorary pallbearer. We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to special friend Kathy Pace, and hospice caregiver Ann Faulk for the sincere love and attention they gave our mom.
