Thomas Vance Boswell Sarepta, LA Graveside services for Mr. Thomas Vance Boswell, age 89, will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, April 1, 2019, at the Old Sarepta Cemetery, Sarepta, LA, with Rev. Todd Pickard officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 31, 2019, from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Bailey Funeral Home. Mr. Boswell was born on September 24, 1929 to David Myers and Martha Elizabeth Ivey Boswell in Simpson, LA and passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019 in Springhill, LA. He was a member of Old Sarepta Missionary Baptist Church where he served as deacon for 60 years and church treasurer for over 50 years.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was retired from International Paper Company. After retirement he was operator and superintendent of the Sarepta Water Works for many years. In 2014 he was awarded the Skeeter Vickers Award by the Louisiana Rural Water Association for outstanding dedication to the water industry.

He enjoyed gardening and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of almost 69 years, Margarette Holden Boswell; daughter, Linda R. Reeme and husband, Clarence of Bossier City; son, Gerald Boswell and wife, Winona of Bossier City; five grandchildren, Vance Boswell, Brandon Boswell, Glynn Hawthorne, Trey Reeme and wife, Jennifer, Amanda Applegate; and many wonderful great-grandchildren. Mr. Boswell was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Claudia Hall, Geneva Worrall; brother, Ray Boswell; and grandson, Jeff McKenzie.
