Obituary for Betty Edwards It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Betty Jean Edwards age 93 of Battle Creek announces the passing of our dear mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Bronson Battle Creek in Battle Creek, MI. She was born July 8, 1925 in Garrett, Indiana the daughter of Franklin and Fay (Shirk) Royer. She graduated in 1943 from Marshall High School, then after high school she went to work at Weston Biscuit, she then worked at Oliver Aviation in the factory; and worked in quality control and production for 28 years at Kellogg’s until retiring in 1985.

She married Sam Edwards in Auburn, Indiana on September 21, 1948. Sam preceded her in death on May 31, 2001. She is survived by three sons: Sammy J. Edwards of Battle Creek, MI, Michael Gene Edwards of Battle Creek, MI; Gary Lee Edwards and Carol Snell of Battle Creek, MI; five grandchildren: Brian & Dana Edwards, Stacy & Mike Rench, Matt & Michelle Coleman, Michael & Mindy Coleman, and Mitchel Edwards; ten great grandchildren: Brittany, Brooklyn, Carleigh, Damien, Mat, Chase, Haley, River, Sky and Dylan; her sister: Maxine Marloe of Battle Creek.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers: Chuck and Frank Royer. On the Saturdays she accompanied her sister Maxine and they would go to the movies and casino and then out to dinner. She loved watching NASCAR races on Sunday.

She liked working on crossword puzzles and reading. She was a member of the Kellogg’s 25 Year Club and local Grain Millers union. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, 223 North Bedford Road, Battle Creek.

Funeral Services will be in the Bachman Funeral Chapel Wednesday, October 23, 2018 10:30 AM with Pastor Jeffrey Worden officiating. Burial will follow at the Hicks Cemetery in Pennfield Twp. , MI.
