Betty L. Montgomery, 88, of Duncansville, passed away Friday evening at Altoona Center for Nursing Care. She was born in Duncansville, daughter of the late B. Oliver and Sadie (Smith) Hicks. On June 25, 1949 at Hicks Memorial, Duncansville, she married Robert H. Montgomery Sr

He preceded her in death March 7, 1991 after having shared 42 years of marriage. Surviving are a daughter, Janie L. Reilly; two sons: Ronald B. and Alan W. and wife, Sherry, all of Duncansville; eleven grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Gina Montgomery. Betty was preceded in death by a son, Robert H. Jr., and an infant daughter, Lois.

Betty was a homemaker. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church, where she served as organist and also had played the organ for many years at Foot of Ten Independent Bible Church. She was a former member of Hollidaysburg Chapter No 471, Order of the Eastern Star.

Friends will be received 10-11 AM Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Berean Baptist Church where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM. Interment will be in Alto Reste Park, Altoona. Arrangements by Sorge Funeral Home, Inc., Hollidaysburg.
