Obituary for Betty Marie Dorsey (Jones) Betty Marie Jones Dorsey, age 97, of Mineola passed away December 17th, 2018. She was born on March 28, 1921 in Mineola, Texas to the late Sam William and Lillie Mae McClendon Jones. She was a loving Wife, Mother and Mimi.
She was also a lady of many talents, she could create beautiful needlework. Betty was a life long resident of Mineola and a life long member of the First United Methodist Church, having joined at the age of nine. She married Thomas Henry “Tommy” Dorsey on February 16th, 1940.
She worked as a secretary for Dr. R.O. Moore for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Lillie Mae Jones; husband, Tommy Dorsey; son, Sam Dorsey; brother, Truman C. Dorsey and son-in-law, John Puckett. She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Puckett; grandchildren, Jay Puckett and his wife, Julie and Jill Simonek and her husband, John; great-grandchildren, Katie Puckett, Jason Puckett, Carlie Simonek and River Simonek; and nephew, David Jones.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 21st, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home 5396 S. State Hwy. 37 Mineola, TX 75773. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 21st, 2018 at Beaty Funeral Home 5396 S. State Hwy.
