Bill G. Comer, 85, of Kearny, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 while surrounded by his loving family. Bill was a veteran of the Korean war. He served the Kearny Police Department for 25 years, and worked his way up through the ranks before becoming Chief of Police in 1980 and eventually retiring in 1983.

Bill will always be remembered as being a devoted family man. Bill is survived by his beloved wife: Betty Myers of 64 years; his loving children: Karen Comer and her wife Michelle Malavet; Daniel Comer and his wife Debra; Catherine Comer – Iverson and her husband Michael, and Kimberlee Comer – Harris and her husband John; His cherished grandchildren: Joshua Comer and his wife Robyn, Shannon Harris, Daniel Harris, Savannah Iverson, and Cheyanne Iverson; His cherished great grandchildren: Joshua Jr., Harper, and Mia; Also surviving is his beloved brother Ronald Comer, of Bristol, Tennessee. Bill was predeceased by his sister: Barbara Simcox.

Services for Bill are private at the request of the family. Donations can be made in Bill’s name to: The National Parkinson’s Foundation (www. Parkinson.org).
