Obituary for Bill Penelton Carl William “Bill” Penelton, age 80, of Edwardsville, Illinois went to be with the Lord peacefully at 6:15 a.m. Saturday April 21, 2018, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. Carl was a retired tester at Clark Oil Refinery in Wood River. He was born November 20, 1937, in Edwardsville, Illinois the son of the late Harry & Dorothy (Smith) Penelton.

He married Patricia, Jones on December 21, 1968 at Wesley Chapel AME Church. Besides his wife Patricia he is survived by Michael A. Penelton & wife Triveece of Kansas City, Missouri and 1 daughter, Dr. Karyle Penelton of Edwardsviille. Bill was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Robert, Harry, Leslie George, Clement, and Anthony Penelton and 1 sister, K. Nadine Bradshaw.

Bill was a member of Believers’ Bible Fellowship in Edwardsville, the Lincoln School Alumni Foundation; Oak Brook Golf Course, and a past board member of the Edwardsville YMCA. He was a Veteran of The U.S. Army where he served in Germany. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Until 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home.

Services will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Clifton Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow services at Woodlawn Cemetery.
